Checks at the point the deal is made.

HomeBid runs identity, open banking, source of funds and wealth, and PEP and sanctions screening before a seller accepts a buyer, on every bidder, inside the sales process. Providers of those checks sit behind a defined interface in the acceptance gate, and their results travel in the digital twin to every professional on the transaction.

Components in the gate,
evidence in the twin

The interface

Replaceable by design

Each check type sits behind a service interface: identity verification, open-banking balances, PEP and sanctions screening with daily refresh, address and credit-header checks. Identity runs through Veriff and open banking through Plaid today; the interface is what is fixed, not the supplier.

The gate

Fail-closed

No result, no acceptance. A screening hit blocks the reservation and is recorded with the reason. Results are computed and stored on the server, never trusted from the client, and every access to the evidence is logged.

The evidence

Carried, not repeated

Results and evidence travel in the twin to both conveyancers, and to the lender and surveyor when instructed, with the buyer's consent. A buyer verified once is verified for their next purchase; refresh replaces repeat.

The bar for the gate

RequirementWhy
Identity providers certified under the UK digital identity and attributes trust frameworkThe identity check is aligned with HMLR Practice Guide 81 and the certification is evidenced in the package
Open-banking access through a regulated account information service providerBalances come from the bank, not from screenshots
Screening against the UK consolidated list with daily refresh and an auditable match historyA live reservation's screening never goes stale
UK GDPR processor terms, UK or EU data residency, encryption at rest and in transitVerification evidence is personal data held for the anti-money-laundering retention period
A documented API with sandbox access and per-check pricingThe interface is tested in the pilot before it carries volume

HomeBid's own posture, an HMRC-supervised anti-money-laundering standard with a named Money Laundering Reporting Officer, is described on the investor site. Providers are components in that posture, not a substitute for it.

One record of the deal,
shared with everyone in it

When a seller accepts a verified buyer on HomeBid, the platform generates a digital twin of the transaction: the property, the parties, the verified identity and the evidence behind it, the financing position, the professionals appointed, and the acceptance record. It is built to the Property Data Trust Framework, an open standard, and delivered to the people who need it within 48 hours.

What it holds

The whole transaction, once

Plot or property and sales terms; buyer and seller; identity results aligned with HMLR Practice Guide 81; source of funds and source of wealth evidence; screening results with the daily refresh history; the buyer's solicitor and lender position; the acceptance record with timestamps.

Who receives it

Everyone with a job to do

Both conveyancers on acceptance. The agent that marketed the property. The surveyor and the lender or broker when they are instructed. A settlement rail if one is used. Each party gets the slice it needs, in JSON its systems can load and a PDF it can read.

What it is not

Anyone's due diligence

The twin accelerates the work of every professional in the chain; it does not replace it. Conveyancers re-verify under their own rules, lenders underwrite, surveyors inspect. HomeBid never represents otherwise.

Every actor, from the first day

HomeBid launches with housebuilders because that is where the volume is. The platform is built for every party to a residential transaction, and the twin records each of them.
